1. Sep 25,  · THRAK has long been my favourite Crimson album, because it was the first one after many years that incorporated early-Crimson signposts like the mellotron, beautiful ballads etc. It still feels like a neat enough summation of what KC is about, with strong songs in their own right and performances to boot. 2. Many consider [Artist, King Crimson] to be "The" progressive rock band. The band was formed from an earlier group, Giles, Giles and Fripp, and consisted of Robert Fripp on guitar, Greg Lake on vocals and bass, Michael Giles on drums, and Ian McDonald on woodwinds and keyboards with Peter Sinfield providing lyrics and handling stage production. This lineup would record but one album.

 4. 8) THRAK. King Crimson's revival work, this album is not nearly as harsh as the era King Crimson works, but you can hear that sound bleeding in. I actually like Walking on Air and Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream quite a lot from this one, but the other songs are kind of bland.

Although I adore the coda on the song/5(4).
 6. THRAK from is the tenth release in the King Crimson 40th Anniversary series and was the first full album to feature the Double Trio incarnation of the group. The CD features a brand new '21st century stereo reimagining' of the album by Jakko Jakszyk and Robert Fripp, while the DVD-a features Surround Sound and Hi-Res stereo mixes by.
 7. Mar 22,  · Listening to it again (and again) "THRAK" is King Crimson's best album. The sound of two guitars (or more overdubs), two basses, and two drummers, in other words, a double-trio setting makes the sound hard with moments of softness that is truly beautiful. "Coda: Marine is like the greatest Yardbirds rave-up within under three-minutes/5(96).
